Amazon Acquires Covariant to Bolster Warehouse Automation

Amazon is hiring key personnel and some staff from robot-software company Covariant to enhance its warehouse automation. While specifics of the deal weren`t disclosed, Amazon will obtain a non-exclusive license for Covariant`s robotic technology. This move builds upon Amazon`s previous efforts in warehouse automation, which began with its 2012 acquisition of Kiva Systems.
