Musks X Evades Brazil Ban Through Software Update

Elon Musk`s social media platform, X (formerly Twitter), was banned in Brazil but regained access due to a software update that made it harder to block. The update involved using IP addresses associated with Cloudflare, a cybersecurity company, making it difficult to block X without affecting other services that share those addresses.

The Brazilian internet provider association, ABRINT, stated that X`s previous system used specific, easily blockable IP addresses. X acknowledged the restored access was unintentional and temporary, resulting from changing network providers after the ban. The company is working with the Brazilian government to reinstate the platform.

The Supreme Court, which ordered the ban due to concerns about fake news and hate speech, is investigating the platform`s return and has requested clarification from Brazil`s telecom regulator.
