23andMe has agreed to a $30 million settlement to resolve a lawsuit stemming from a 2023 data breach that impacted 6.9 million customers. The lawsuit claimed the company failed to adequately protect customer data and did not properly inform affected customers, particularly those with Chinese and Ashkenazi Jewish ancestry who were specifically targeted.
