OpenAI Recruits Former Meta Executive for Strategic Initiatives

OpenAI has recruited Irina Kofman, a former Meta Platforms Inc. executive, to lead strategic initiatives. Kofman will concentrate on safety and preparedness, reporting to OpenAI`s CTO. This hiring is part of a trend of AI startups attracting experienced leaders from major tech companies to compete with giants like Google and Meta. OpenAI has also recently hired former executives from Instagram, Twitter, and Nextdoor. However, OpenAI has also seen the departure of key personnel to competitor Anthropic.
