Former President Donald Trump claims that Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has contacted him numerous times recently, including after the incident where a bullet grazed Trump`s ear in July. Trump asserts that Zuckerberg praised his reaction to the incident and stated he wouldn`t support a Democrat in the upcoming election due to his admiration for Trump. While Zuckerberg has publicly stated his neutrality in the election, he did refer to Trump`s response to the incident as "badass" in a previous interview.
Trump also alleges that Zuckerberg apologized for Meta`s automated systems mistakenly flagging an image of him from the same event. Meta admitted to the error, explaining that their systems confused the original photo with manipulated versions.
Despite Trump`s claims, Meta maintains that Zuckerberg is not endorsing any presidential candidate. The interactions between the two are noteworthy given their history, which includes Meta`s two-year ban of Trump from Facebook and Instagram following the January 6th Capitol riots and Trump`s accusations against Zuckerberg and Facebook.
